When an ambulance, a tractor trailer, and three other vehicles were involved in a car wreck, many people driving by were horrified that the worst had happened.

Three of the the cars had passengers in them, and the ambulance was in the middle of transferring a patient to the hospital.

While the interstate eventually slowed to a crawl, the amazing men and women of the Jefferson County, AL Sheriff’s office showed up to do their very best at protecting and serving any of the citizens in need.

When the paramedics arrived to check on the victims of the crash, Deputy Ric Lindley picked up one of the tiny children to make sure she felt safe and comforted as her parents were being saved.

Lindley, a father himself, knew that even though he was in uniform, he was still a dad, and knew exactly how he would want someone to treat his child if he was ever in a similar situation. Just like the cop who comforted the small child after a horrible car wreck, this policeman knew exactly what to do to make things okay again for the little girl!

Luckily, no one was seriously injured from the crash, but we’re happy to know that officer Lindley, and many other cops like him, are out there every single day doing their very best to make the world a better and safer place!
