Like so many Americans, Pink revealed she was struggling with the flu just days before her big Super Bowl performance at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The 38-year-old feared she wouldn’t sound 100% well during her rendition of the national anthem — although she managed to give a stunning performance last night.

Just before the pop superstar began to sing, cameras captured her spitting something out. The moment went viral on social media, though Pink later revealed she was removing a throat lozenge.

“I almost got there,” Pink told ET, saying she was not so sure of her performance.

However, just about everyone on social media thought she sounded great. Her 6-year-old daughter Willow agreed with the consensus.

“Great!” Willow said when asked how her mommy sounded.

Unfortunately, there were still some detractors. One person tweeted, “If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1000 times. Pink sucks and if you like her singing you’re dumb.”

Pink responded, “Yeah but at least I suck while singing our country’s national anthem, and you just suck by yourself on a dirty couch.”

The singer’s husband, Carey Hart, captioned a photo praising his wife.

“The roller coaster that she went through this last week with getting sick and losing her voice would have broke any ordinary person,” Carey said. “She laced up her boots, got through a 90-minute set Friday night, and f*****g killed the super bowl today. Oh and sang live by the way. She is the hardest working in show business and i couldn’t be more proud of her. You f*****g rule, baby.”
