Pink is one of the most outspokenly feminist women in America, so it’s no surprise that the dating advice she’s given her daughter is equally inspiring.
In her recent Cosmopolitan January 2018 cover story, the Grammy winner revealed that her 6-year-old daughter, Willow, had recently brought up her future dating life in the most hilarious way.
“She said to me the other day, ‘How many boys can I have at once?’ And I said, ‘Excuse me?'” Pink recalled.
But the mom of two (who also shares 11-month-old son Jameson with her husband, Carey Hart) had the perfect response for her little girl. Pink laid out the requirements for any boy to be worthy of her daughter.
“I said, ‘Probably none of them because they won’t deserve you,'” she recalled telling Willow. “They have to be kind, respectful, they have to be chivalrous, they have to be good to their moms, they have to be good-looking, they have to be funny.”
It’s no surprise that Pink’s message for Willow centers around boys being worthy of her, and not the other way around. Back in August, the singer brought her daughter to the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards and delivered an empowering speech (addressed to Willow) about self-image and celebrating what makes you unique instead of changing to fit in.
“We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell, and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so that they can see more kinds of beauty[…] And you, my darling girl, are beautiful,” the singer said.
