Pink Reveals She And Carey Hart Have Been In Couple’s Counseling For Nearly 17 Years

by Angela Andaloro

In an interview with Carson Daly on the Today show, Pink revealed a shocking fact about her marriage.

While discussing how she and husband Carey Hart make it work, she explained that the couple has been in counseling together for nearly their entire relationship. For her, it’s the best way for them to communicate and navigate their unusual circumstances.

“He speaks Polish, I speak Italian and she [our therapist] speaks both. We do not speak the same language,” she explained, according to ET Online. “We come from broken families and we had no model of how are we supposed to keep this family together and live this crazy life?”

“And there’s no model,” she continued. “There’s no book that says, ‘Here’s how to do this.’ So we go to counseling and it works.”

Pink and Carey met at the 2001 Summer X Games. The two dated until 2003 and then broke up, only to reunite a few months later. They married in 2006. Their 2008 split was almost the end, until Pink put it all on the line to get her man back by inviting him to be in her “So What” music video. Once they got back together, it was clear they were in it for the long haul.

Pink likes to discuss her relationship and mental health to eliminate the stigma of both. “I think I’m hopeful that the taboo of it is going away because more and more people are talking about it,” she said. “I think talking about it is the most important thing.”
