A McDonald’s employee from Doral, Florida, found himself in a shocking situation on March 14.
Pedro Viloria was working the drive-thru when an SUV rolled up to receive their order.
Inside was a woman and her two children, a boy and a girl.
Pedro accepted her payment and gave her the order. Everything seemed fine.
Suddenly, everything changed.
“I see she was hardly breathing, and I thought that’s not normal,” Pedro said. “Her kids were screaming, ‘Mother, Mother, stop it! Mother, what are you doing?’”
In the video below, taken from McDonald’s surveillance, you can see Pedro’s panicked reaction, especially when the mom’s car began to move on its own, as if her foot had come off the brake.
As her kids continued to scream and the situation grew more and more dire, Pedro wasted no time at all.
In a flash, the McDonald’s employee jumped straight through the service window!
He got himself in front of the vehicle at the exact moment, luckily, the curb stopped it from moving any further and risking a roll into traffic.
Pedro quickly ran towards the kids, comforting them and telling them to call 911. They followed his lead.
At the same time, a fireman had walked into the restaurant and after noticing the commotion outside, ran over to help, along with his partner and an off-duty paramedic.
Pedro wasn’t alone in his heroics, as another McDonald’s employee, who asked to remain nameless, helped administer CPR to the mom who, to everyone’s surprise, happened to be an off-duty police officer!
Luckily, no one was hurt, thanks to the quick actions of some selfless employees of a neighborhood McDonald’s!
