Duck-Hunting Dog Races To Yank 2 Sinking Teens Out Of Waist-Deep Mud Trap When Rescue Team Can’t

by Jess Butler
Jess is a curly-haired Jersey girl who adores penguins and watches the worst reality shows on TV.

Otis, the chocolate Lab, loved joining his owner, Jake Atkins, and a friend on their duck-hunting adventures.

However, a particular trip went awry for the two teens — who unexpectedly found themselves stuck in mud and unable to escape.

Luckily, Otis was there to save the day.

In the video below, posted on November 2, 2017, Jake explains, “We were walking pretty much side by side, and we both kind of sank to knee-depth in the mud. Then, we tried to wiggle ourselves out, and then, we ended up being waist-deep.”

The more the two teens tried to wiggle their way out of the mud, the deeper they sank.

Soon, they were helpless, but were able to call 911 and beg for help.

When the rescue team arrived, they realized it was too much of a risk to send anyone into the mud to go get the young men.

So, they turned to Otis.

They gave the duck-hunting dog a thick rope and sent him off into the mud trap where the teens were slowly sinking. Within three trips with the rope, Otis was able to save Jake, his friend, and their equipment. Once the teens grabbed ahold of the rope, Otis followed them to make sure they completely removed themselves from the mud. The heroic canine was light and fast enough to get the job done safely.

Check out this amazing dog’s story in the video below, and please SHARE if you’re glad Jake and his friend are safe — all thanks to Otis!
