When an emergency arises, 911 is obviously the most ideal resource — but when mere seconds can determine a life-or-death situation, it simply may not be fast enough.
OnCamera is a brand new phone app that helps a potential victims avoid stranger danger or ward off an attacker. Individuals who sense trouble can summon a trained officer on their cell phone who will immediately intervene on their behalf, on video and in real time.
OnCamera officers use GPS location and streaming video to connect users with emergency services. It’s really a brilliant idea; though an officer isn’t physically present, the officer pops up on the user’s cell phone screen and witnesses the entire scene as it unfolds.
For an attacker, this alone could be intimidating enough to flee before any further action is taken.
OnCamera is currently donor-funded and available as a free beta for a limited period of time.
I’m definitely ready for a nationwide launch, and think everyone should be aware of this wonderful app. It really could save a life! If you agree, please SHARE this invention with your friends on Facebook and spread the word.
