If you have a beloved animal in your life, you know that you would do anything to keep your fur-baby safe.

But sometimes, our pets get stuck in dangerous situations out of our control.

Luckily, there are caring and skilled people who are more than willing to help them out. Often, these rescuers are police officers and other emergency responders.

Recently a cop heard a dog splash into a pond, but when the dog started struggling, the cop jumped right in to save him.

A brave detective in New Jersey also recently rescued a bear cub after it got caught in some netting.

In the country of Colombia, there have been flash-floods recently, which have caused rivers to swell.

The rushing waters take down everything in their path, sweeping up rocks and debris.

Recently, a dog somehow ended up in the dangerous water. He was quickly being swept downstream when police officers noticed him and started running along next to him.

They desperately tried to catch up with the struggling dog — they knew the poor pup needed their help.

Eventually, one of the officers made it far enough along the bank that he was actually in front of the dog, so he jumped in the water to catch the pooch and pull him out of the raging water.
