With chillier weather starting to arrive, it’s no surprise that colds come along with the drastic change. Parents know how miserable the feeling is, but sometimes the sinus pain is even worse for kids.
It’s always upsetting to see kids in pain from sinus pressure and stuffy noses, but this mom has found an easy and quick solution for relieving the pain.
Sia Cooper, a fitness blogger and mom of two, posted a video on her Instagram on November 16, 2017, demonstrating how to effectively help loosen the mucus.
“We were eating dinner and she could hardly breathe!” she wrote in the caption.
Instead of giving her daughter medication, the mom used massage therapy to help her little girl. The method is so easy that she did it at the dinner table while they were out at a restaurant.
“Simply apply direct pressure with your fingertips and gently rub to get that drainage flowing,” she wrote. “Also helps to temporarily relieve a little pressure so your little ones can feel better!”
As you’ll see in the video, she begins by rubbing her thumb between her daughter’s eyebrows for a few seconds. She then applies pressure for to her cheekbones about 10 seconds, using her thumb in an outward motion. Finally, she rubs her cheeks in a circular motion.
Sia also says this works great for adults as well.
