This “accident” is over 30 years old, but could this new information be the missing piece of the puzzle?

Dr. Phil brought Dennis Davern on his show to discuss the mysterious death of actress Natalie Wood. The incident occurred back in 1981 on a yacht that Dennis was captaining.

Natalie drowned while on a pleasure cruise aboard the 55-foot boat Splendor with husband Robert Wagner and their friend, actor Christopher Walken. Initial reports claimed that she went missing while Robert and Christopher fought. Once everyone realized that she was missing, her body was found a mile away from the yacht.

The death was ruled an accident at the time, and no charges have ever been brought against Robert. But the investigation was reopened in 2011 after Captain Davern came forward with new recollections about the night. He even traveled with authorities to Hawaii, where the ship is now anchored, to conduct tests and prove his new claims.

“Do you believe Robert Wagner murdered Natalie Wood?” asks Dr. Phil on the new episode of his show.

The captain doesn’t hesitate before responding, “Yes, I really do.”

The former captain goes on to claim that he heard Robert and Natalie fighting that night, that they were throwing items around their room. It’s too soon to know if anything will come of these new recollections, but it sounds like investigators believe Dennis Davern’s story.
