For almost two months, people all over the world tuned in to Facebook Live to watch one thing: a pregnant giraffe.

In February, Animal Adventure Park in upstate New York announced that their 15-year-old giraffe, April, was in the early stages of labor.

People began watching, expecting her to have the baby any day. However, it took over a month for April the giraffe to actually get to the “pushing” stage of labor.

Finally, on April 15, 2017, April the giraffe gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Over 1.2 million people watched the delivery in real time, thrilled that the baby was finally being born.

Just hours after the baby giraffe came into the world, he was up and walking around the pen, flanked by his proud mama.

Oliver, the baby’s dad, watched his newborn son from the next stall over.

Now that the hard part is over, Animal Adventure Park wants the public’s help in naming the baby! That means that if you’ve been following along this whole time and want to give your input, you absolutely can.
