Many people across the country are sharing photos online of strange seed packets that came to them in the mail … but that they even never ordered.

According to CBS News, residents in all 50 states have received these mysterious and unsolicited packages of seeds.

The shipments are coming from foreign countries — many appear to have been sent by mail from China — and people are being warned not to plant them.

Authorities are currently trying to figure out why this is happening. Is it a scam? A hoax? Or something more sinister?
