Motala The Elephant Gets To Enjoy Life Again Thanks To Her Prosthetic Leg

Land mines have caused many unintentional tragedies. Motala is a beautiful elephant who lost one of her front legs after she stepped on a land mine.

If this had been just 20 years ago, Motala would have had to spend the rest of her life in misery without her leg and nothing to help her walk.

The folks at the Asian Elephant Foundation have created the first prosthetic elephant leg. No one else has ever created one of these before.

Led by Dr. Therdchai Jivacate, the foundation first helped Mosha the elephant, who lost her leg the same way as Motala.

Now, Motala is just the second elephant in the world to have a prosthetic leg. It has already changed her life completely!

You can see in the video below how Motala moves around now with her new leg. It’s like she is brand new!
