Deanna Pilling is a mom-of-four from New York City. She’s a self-confessed “dorky mom” who often finds herself in bizarre and/or sticky situations.

In May 2016, Deanna’s 18-year-old daughter McKenna was in the process of packing up her dorm room at Utah State University. Deanna was supposed to come and help her, but she decided to surprise her by showing up a day early.

When Deanna walked into McKenna’s room, she saw the walls were bare and moving boxes were scattered on the floor. McKenna wasn’t inside the room, so instead of standing around and waiting for her Deanna laid on her bed and made herself comfortable.

Minutes passed and her daughter was nowhere in sight. Deanna snapped a smiling selfie from the bed and texted it to McKenna.

McKenna received the photo, took a closer look and revealed Deanna big mistake. Deanna felt “sick to my stomach.”

Their hilarious text conversation went viral with tens of thousands of shares…
