Ashley Stone was driving her 3-year-old daughter Olive home from a friend’s house one evening. She got lost in Guilford County, North Carolina, while trying to watch out for deer, then was confused when the road split.

Unsure of whether or not there was a stop sign ahead, Ashley came to a complete halt to get a better look. Suddenly, she saw bright blue lights flashing in front of her.

Quickly realizing it was a cop, Ashley assumed she was about to get a ticket, though she wasn’t sure for what. Instantly, her mind prepared for the worst. She looked back at her daughter and panicked.

Most of us would have these same negative thoughts.

Enter Deputy Angelo Johnson, who approached Ashley’s window. Their encounter was nothing like what the worried mom expected, especially when he looked in the back seat and saw Olive.

Watch the video below to find out what happened between Ashley, Olive, and Deputy Johnson. She said with all the negative news surrounding law enforcement these days, she wanted to share her story.
