The fashion world is one that can be both known for its creative genius, as well as its controversial reputation.

There has been much speculation over the years of unfairness in the modeling world in terms of appearances.

Well now, there’s one model who is paving the way to show that beauty truly does come in all shapes and sizes.

Kathryn Meade, or “Katie” for short, is a model who lives with Down syndrome.

She’s already made history as the first ever model with Down syndrome to front a beauty campaign.

Always having the support of her family and friends growing up, Katie still did experience hard times with bullies at school; at one point even having gum put in her hair.

Regardless of shortcomings or the negativity from some people, Katie continues to rise up in both the fashion world, and in her other occupation as an ambassador for Best Buddies.

An organization that specifically works with people experiencing developmental and mental difficulties.

Katie said: “As a role, I’m an ambassador for Best Buddies, I go and promote people with and without disabilities can find funds and jobs.”

And it was due to her working with Best Buddies that she was approached by Beauty & Pin ups, a haircare brand to be the face of their Fearless range.

Katie continues to be an inspiration for the beauty community, showing that the limits of beauty are nothing short of endless.
