Phoenix, Arizona, couple Kylie and Phillip Szafranski struggled to start a family for many years. In 2014, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter named River.
Since twins run in both Kylie and Phillip’s families, they decided to try and have another baby. This time, they hoped for twins but tried conceiving 100 percent naturally.
That’s when things took a stunning turn.
“When we decided we wanted to give her a sibling, we never imagined our quest to grow our family would become this,” Kylie said.
Kylie learned she was pregnant again, and though she wanted it to be twins, she and Phillip expected to see only one baby appear on the ultrasound. But when the doctor looked closer and told the expecting couple their new reality, Kylie had quite the unexpected reaction.
“I laughed… I just, I was laughing, I couldn’t help it,” Kylie told FOX.
Even the doctors waereshocked — and that’s because this type of pregnancy is so very rare. In fact, it only happens naturally in one in 700,000 births.
