Fortunately, an anonymous donor gave the group a grant for the surgery — on one condition: Minmi had to be adopted by someone who was also an amputee, who understood her struggle.
Enter Bob Padilla.
Bob had to have his leg amputated two years ago, due to diabetes, but he never let the affliction get him down. For him, it was not a disability; it was a challenge.
Then, Bob and his wife, Bonnie, had to deal with another tragedy: their beloved dog passed away.
Luckily, this story has a happy ending.
While watching TV, Bonnie saw Minmi, the three-legged dog. Bonnie saw that the group was actively seeking someone to adopt her.
She had been looking for a reason to adopt another dog and took it as a sign.
“Well honey, what bigger sign can you get than that? I’m an amputee!” Bob said to her.
The rescue group decided that Bob and Minmi were a perfect match for one another.
“I mean, how can you beat this? Look at this face! This is unconditional love!” Bob said in the video below, holding the pup close.
A match made in heaven, indeed!
