You might expect to see a person sitting in the back of a cop car on their way to jail for some crime or other. But it would probably be quite jarring to spot a pair of adorable mini goats riding around.

In Belfast, Maine, local police came to the rescue of two pygmy goats named Louis and Mowgli. They had both escaped from their home.

According to the AP, the duo was discovered inside a woman’s garage — where they had indulged in some cat food.

I can’t imagine the look on that homeowner’s face when she came outside to discover a set of goats dining on her kitty’s lunch!

Sergeant Daniel Fitzpatrick responded to the call for assistance and was able to get the mini goats into his squad car using a simple cat leash.

Sgt. Fitzpatrick snapped a selfie with Louis and Mowgli and, fortunately, through the power of social media, the police were able to locate the goats’ owners who saw a post about them on Facebook.

The Belfast Police Department Facebook page read, “Got goats? We do, and they do not belong to us. We had these two little ‘kids’ turn up on High Street…

“They are currently riding around with Sgt. Fitzpatrick, serenading him in goat music.”

Would you do a double take if you spotted two mini goats in the back of a police car?

Don’t forget to SHARE these cuties with friends and family!
