Mick Jagger Shows Off Impressive Dance Moves Just A Month After Heart Valve Replacement Surgery

by Angela Andaloro

Mick Jagger is more than just a Rolling Stone — he’s a force to be reckoned with. The 75-year-old frontman underwent heart valve surgery just over a month ago in New York.

The surgery was minimally invasive, but it forced the Rolling Stones to reschedule their North American No Filter tour.

In a statement, a representative for the band explained, “Mick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment. The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.” The tour, originally slated to start in April, will now begin in late June.

Clearly, it hasn’t slowed him down one bit. He posted a video of himself dancing around a rehearsal space, showing off the moves that inspired the Maroon 5 hit “Moves Like Jagger.”

Mick Jagger is one of the most iconic frontmen in rock and roll history. He puts on an energetic show every time he hits the stage.

On March 30, the band announced that they’d have to take a break, rescheduling their North American tour dates. In a statement, they explained that Mick would have to undergo heart valve replacement surgery.

The No Filter tour began as 14 shows across Europe in later 2017. An additional 14 dates were added in early 2018 across Europe and the UK.

The North American leg was announced in late 2018. Originally slated to start in April, the tour will now begin in late June.

According to Billboard, the surgery involved accessing Mick’s heart valve through his femoral artery. With this method, the heart valve was repaired using a catheter, avoiding an invasive surgery that would have opened up his chest.

Mick released his own statement apologizing to fans for the postponement. Fans rallied around him, encouraging him to do whatever he needed to do to take care of himself.

Mick let fans know through an Instagram post that he made it out of his surgery OK. He thanked his fans, as well as the medical personnel who cared for him.

About a week later, Mick posted a picture showing him taking a walk through a garden. He looked perfectly himself in the shot.

Fast-forward a month later, and we’re really seeing Mick back to his old self. He posted a video showing himself dancing around a rehearsal space.

Many of Mick’s peers in the entertainment industry rooted him on in the comments. Everyone is in awe of the strength and determination of the 75-year-old frontman.

Of course, Maroon 5 had to chime in to give Mick credit for his dance moves. They released a single in 2010 titled “Moves Like Jagger,” paying homage to Mick and making a whole new generation aware of his awesome dance abilities.

Among those cheering Mick on were his kids. Both Georgia and Lucas were happy to see their dad up and moving again.

Mick takes his health very seriously. According to the Sun, he maintains a healthy, organic diet and works out for three hours, five to six days a week.

We’re glad to see that Mick is bouncing back nicely. It looks like he is well on his way to bringing that energy when he hits the stage on the North American leg of the No Filter tour.
