Samantha Markle was recently photographed outside Kensington Palace, but she’s going on record to say that the visit wasn’t as it appeared to be.

Earlier this week, there were reports that Meghan Markle’s now infamous half-sister turned up at the royal estate uninvited. A source told Entertainment Tonight that Samantha and her boyfriend, Mark Phillips, were spotted outside Kensington Palace, where the 53-year-old writer appeared “upbeat and cheery” as she spoke to a security guard and tried to hand him a letter addressed to “My sister Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.” Reportedly, the guard refused to accept the letter and advised her to leave it in a mailbox located outside the palace.

The unexpected drop-in followed Samantha appearing on a British talk show to publicly apologize and plead with Meghan for a meeting to hash out their issues and reconcile.

Despite reports that she was “turned away,” Samantha told the Daily Mail that her visit went exactly as she intended. She also denied suggestions that she was attempting to “crash” the palace.

“I wasn’t trying to crash anything,” she told the Daily Mail. “I’m very polite and respectful. I was not turned away from Kensington Palace. I’m pretty mature, I’m pretty composed, I’m not the kind of person that’s turned away. I was very respectful and I went there to deliver a letter. Nobody was turned away, nobody was disrespectful and it was a wonderful experience. It was a nice experience and nobody was mean to me at all, I was quite surprised.”

Obviously, many people are curious about what exactly was in that letter Samantha was trying to deliver. While she wouldn’t detail its contents, she said, “I think I accomplished my goal and we’ll just have to wait and see how it was received.”

“I wanted to express some sentiments and set some records straight,” Samantha said of the letter. “I can’t give the details of that but I really wanted the world and really my sister and the British royal family to know what happened and know the truth about a lot of things.”

Do you think Samantha’s attempts to reconcile with Meghan are genuine?
