Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have gotten into a minor argument during Trooping the Colour.

In early June, the royal family gathered at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen’s birthday at Trooping the Colour.

The Sussexes attended, and fans noticed a seemingly awkward moment between them on the balcony.

In a video posted to Twitter, you can see Meghan turn around and speak to Harry a couple of times. But he looks tense, and he appears to tell her to “turn around.” When Meghan faces the front again, she kinda looks like she’s going to cry! What?!

It may be that Harry was just telling Meghan to face the front for the national anthem. But fans are speculating that it could’ve been a sign of trouble in paradise.

“She looked like she was trying not to start crying,” one fan wrote.

“He is quite gruff with her and she does appear visibly upset,” another said. “It is actually quite tough to watch.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle surprised fans by showing up at Trooping the Colour together just weeks after welcoming their first baby.

They rode to the event with Kate Middleton and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Then they gathered on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the rest of the royals to watch the parade and air display.

At first glance, it looked like they were having a great time. But some savvy royal spectators noticed that Meghan and Harry may have been bickering.

At one point, Meghan turned around and said something to Harry. He appeared to tell her to “turn around” multiple times, and she looked emotional when she faced the front again.

Lip-reading experts disagree about what, exactly, Harry says to Meghan in the video.

Lip reader Tina Lannin tells the Sun that Harry says: “No he hasn’t. Oh fine. Turn around.”

But a lip-reading expert at the Daily Mail says that Harry said, “Yes, that’s right,” and then “Turn around … Look.”

Either way, Meghan’s facial expression does look different after she turns around for the final time.

Fans speculated that the couple got into some type of tiff that had Meghan on the verge of tears.

One Twitter user even called it “tough to watch.”

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Insider that he believes it was an “unhappy exchange.”

“One of the important characteristics of being royal is to ensure that public appearances go off smoothly,” Richard said.

“In an era where social media, lip readers, and long range cameras ensure nothing public is hidden, it is more important than ever,” Richard noted. “In this instance it certainly seems that there was an unhappy exchange.”

All couples get into fights sometimes, but not everyone has a million eyes on them, tracking their every word and gesture.

“Let us hope it was not symptomatic of anything other than a misunderstanding, but the Buckingham Palace balcony is not the place to draw attention to such things,” Richard said.

There may not have been a disagreement at all, however. Right after Harry told Meghan to turn around, the national anthem began to play, so he may have just been reminding her to face forward for the music.

Meghan may have also given Harry her own reminder later. As the family prepared to leave the balcony, Meghan appeared to whisper something that stopped her husband in his tracks.

Some fans think Meghan stopped Harry from “leaving before the Queen.” Walking before the Queen is a major breach in royal etiquette.

It’ll likely be some time before fans see Meghan and Harry together in public again. Harry has been on his own for most royal events since the arrival of baby Archie, while Meghan is still enjoying her maternity leave.

They are, however, reportedly planning to embark on a royal tour of Africa later this year.
