Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly upgrading to a bigger home to make room for their growing family. Not only are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcoming a baby in the spring, but Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, will also need some space to call her own.
Baby Sussex will be Doria’s first grandchild, and she’s hoping to become a very hands-on grandma, the Daily Mail reports. That means she’ll be staying with her daughter and son-in-law “on a regular basis” after the baby arrives.
But the duke and duchess currently live in a humble two-bedroom cottage at Kensington Palace. That leaves one bedroom for the new baby, and… no space for Grandma. So the couple is moving on up.
“They are expecting a baby early next year and obviously need a bit more space. It is not like this has just come up,” a source told Daily Mail.
Meghan and Harry will leave Kensington Palace next month. They’ll move into Frogmore Cottage, a 10-bedroom property on the Windsor estate, where Grandma Doria will reportedly have her very own wing.
