Ever since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child, the world’s eyes have been glued to Meghan’s growing belly.
We got our first glimpse of Meghan’s baby bump just a few days after the royal family announced that Meghan was pregnant. While Meghan and Harry enjoyed their first royal visit to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga, everyone watched to see if Meghan would show off her belly.
Meghan is due this spring, so she’s finally entered her third trimester — and it really shows!
On January 10, Meghan made her first appearance in the new year, and she debuted her first maternity dress! The 37-year-old duchess visited one of her new patronages, Smart Works, and showed off her rapidly growing baby bump.
Although Meghan has worn other dresses that have clung to her belly since she announced her pregnancy, this is the first official maternity dress she’s worn during a public outing. And she was absolutely glowing!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot on May 19, 2018. People all over the world tuned in as they said their vows. Meghan looked absolutely stunning in her one-of-a-kind Givenchy gown.
On October 15, the royal family announced that Meghan and Harry were expecting their first baby. “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” Kensington Palace announced on Instagram.
Just after announcing their pregnancy, the duke and duchess arrived in Australia for their first royal tour together. Fans immediately started examining photos of the happy couple for signs of Meghan’s growing baby bump.
We finally got our first glimpse of Meghan’s belly toward the end of the royal tour, when she wore this stunning blue gown in Fiji. Although small, a bump is definitely visible!
Meghan’s bump grew quickly after she and Harry returned from their royal tour. In December, Meghan made a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards, and her belly was more visible than ever!
Meghan made it very clear that she was thrilled about becoming a mom. Throughout the evening, she held onto her belly bump and showed it off to everyone.
On January 10, Meghan made her first appearance of 2019. She visited one of her new patronages, Smart Works, which helps vulnerable women find employment.
Meghan looked absolutely stunning in a simple black dress and tan overcoat. She had her hair pulled back into a sleek low bun. Her elegant earrings rounded out her look.
Meghan’s midi-length black dress is the first maternity dress she’s worn to a public occasion.
The dress is the Eliza Dress by Hatch, which retails for $218.
Now that Meghan has reached her third trimester, she’s definitely trying to stay comfortable. The Eliza Dress is made of a stretch cotton knit.
The website’s description of the dress reads: “The Eliza Dress is fit to grow with you during all stages — made in a two way stretch cotton viscose knit — you won’t find anything more comfortable that’s this appropriate for any and all occasions. The midi-length dress features a subtle ribbed crew neckline detail and matching rib detail around the arm opening.”
Meghan was absolutely glowing as she met with Smart Works staff members. After that, she sat in on interview preparations and coaching and helped women find professional outfits.
Although this was Meghan’s first public visit to the charity, she’s actually been there multiple times before.
Juliet Hughes-Hallett, chairwoman, told reporters, “She’s been to see us privately a number of times and was very hands-on, not just with the clothes but with the interviews. She has fantastic empathy and has been helping to coach some of our clients. She’s a natural and has already made a big difference.”
Meghan has just a few months of her pregnancy left, but she shows no signs of slowing down.
We can’t wait to see the duke and duchess become parents this spring!
