Meghan Markle’s High School Classmate Reads Emotional Note She Got From The Now-Duchess In 1999

by Madison Vanderberg

A letter that Meghan Markle wrote to her former classmate nearly 20 years ago has surfaced, and it will make you love the Duchess of Sussex even more. One of Meghan’s former schoolmates at Immaculate Heart High School in Hollywood — Michelle Fanara — said the royal wedding took her on a trip down memory lane and reminded her of the time Meghan once sent her a handwritten note.

“I went looking — like, ‘Oh, yeah, I do, I still have it. It’s in my senior yearbook,’” Michelle told Inside Edition.

Michelle admitted she was going through a tough time, and Meghan — who wasn’t in her immediate circle of friends — took the time to write the letter in the hopes that it would lift Michelle’s spirits.

“I wanted to retreat into my own shell, and Meghan was like, ‘No, you can’t do that,’ and she kept pulling me out of my shell,” Michelle recalled.

So what did Meghan write to Michelle? “Never stop sharing your beautiful spirit and always remember how special you are,” among other sweet gestures.

“She was genuinely a nice person. I don’t think there was a mean bone in her body,” Michelle added.
