Since the announcement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement, all eyes have been on the “American Princess”! Meghan’s life will change drastically as she prepares to be a member of the British royal family. For example, she’s already getting “princess lessons” from her hubby-to-be!

But what about the actress’ birth family? New details are emerging about her relationship with various family members. Her strained relationships with her half-brother and half-sister from her dad’s first marriage are well known. But Meghan is a self-professed “daddy’s girl” who’s posted photos of him on her Instagram page.

Tom Markle reportedly lives a very secluded life in the small town of Rosarito, Mexico, which is just 10 miles south of the border. He leads a modest lifestyle in a yellow house overlooking the Pacific ocean. He is 73-years-old and is enjoying retirement.

He can enjoy a few comforts from home, however, as a local Burger King and Walmart are familiar sights.

The proud father has also reportedly been telling people, “Have you heard of Meghan Markle? I’m her dad.” Tom married Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, in 1979, but they divorced in 1988 when the actress was just 6.

Tom is expected to make his way across the pond for his daughter’s nuptials and will apparently walk her down the aisle, according to Daily Mail.
