The first Christmas you spend with your significant other’s family is nerve-racking, to say the least.

Christmas is just about the biggest holiday of the year, so it’s totally natural to feel nervous about spending that day with people you want to impress. After all, it can have an effect on the rest of your relationship.

Anyone would be terrified, but imagine if the family you were spending Christmas with was royal?

That’s the almost unbelievable situation that Meghan Markle found herself in this year after her whirlwind romance with and engagement to Prince Harry.

Meghan spent Christmas with Harry and his family, including Prince William, Duchess Catherine, and Queen Elizabeth. She was seen leaving a religious service with the family 0n Christmas Day.

Although spending the holidays with your future in-laws is scary, it’s a pretty common thing to do — unless you’re a royal. According to CNN, this is the first time ever that someone who hasn’t yet married into the royal family has been invited to spend Christmas with them.

Of course, it makes sense that Meghan was welcomed, considering how far away she is from her home. Still, her invite was a major break from tradition — and that’s something the young royals have been doing a lot of these days.

From the video below, it seems as though Meghan gets along well with Prince William and Duchess Catherine. She even has her curtsy to the Queen down pat!
