Just hours after announcing their pregnancy, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had already received their first baby gifts!
Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were expecting just before they made their first appearance on their royal tour.
The parents-to-be are currently visiting Australia, and their first stop was a welcome reception at Admiralty House in Sydney. Governor-General Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Lynne Cosgrove, met with the expecting couple and gave them their first baby gifts.
The moment, which was captured on camera, was absolutely adorable. When Governor Cosgrove gave Meghan a kangaroo stuffed animal, she immediately responded, “That’s so cute; it’s our first baby gift!”
Harry leaned over to take a look at the kangaroo, which had a baby joey in its pouch (the perfect present for a mom-to-be). The governor then gave Harry a pair of itty-bitty Ugg boots for the baby.
The duke and duchess also made a stop at the Taronga Zoo, where they met a koala named Rubi. They later visited the Sydney Opera House and watched a performance by the Bangarra Dance Theatre.
Meghan and Harry are spending just over two weeks on their royal tour, visiting Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand, and they’re making over 70 appearances. Hopefully the mom-to-be will find some time to rest!
