Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have received mixed reactions from the public since announcing their desire to step away from their roles as senior members of the royal family.
It seems that the couple can count one of Britain’s most beloved actors in their corner. Speaking to Andy Cohen this week, Hugh Grant revealed that he supports Harry and Meghan’s decision.
“I’m rather on Harry’s side, I have to say,” Hugh revealed. “The tabloid press effectively murdered his mother. Now they’re tearing his wife to pieces. I think, as a man, it’s his job to protect his family, so I’m with him.”
Meghan has kept herself busy in the wake of the family shakeup.
She paid a visit to Justice for Girls in Canada on Tuesday. The charity organization promotes social justice as well as an end to violence, poverty, and racism in the lives of teenage girls who live in poverty. Director Zoe Craig-Sparrow spoke highly of the visit.
“We were so excited,” Zoe said. “We honestly couldn’t believe it, the fact that she’d heard of us, and she’s passionate and interested in the issues and took an hour and a half to sit down and discuss things with us was truly remarkable.”
Meanwhile, Harry carried out what some believe could be his final royal duty at Buckingham Palace. Harry was on deck promoting an international rugby tournament, with his usual sense of humor intact. Harry was seen palling around with kids outside and shared a video of the event on Instagram.
