Margot Robbie Opens Up About Scary ‘Worst-Case Scenario’ Of Having To Cope With Stalkers

I, Tonya leading lady Margot Robbie has enjoyed many successes since her big break in Hollywood. The talented actress has starred in several blockbusters, including The Wolf of Wall StreetThe Legend of Tarzan, and her latest, a biopic of American figure-skater Tonya Harding.

This film has earned her many award nominations for her performance, and audiences are raving about it!

But it’s the film Suicide Squad that changed Margot’s life in a huge way: since she portrayed comic book antihero Harley Quinn, she has been dealing with death threats and stalkers.

Margot revealed that she had to beef up her personal security after starring in the role.

She told The Hollywood Reporter: “You’re about to be in a comic book film; now here’s the worst-case scenario of how big and scary it can get.

There’s just all this stuff you learn along the way, like, when you get those death threats, it’s [smart] to have a security team do a background check on whoever sent them to see if there is any past history of violence because you’ll need to know whether you need security to go to certain events. And every time you do a background check, it’s going to cost $2,000, so take that into consideration when you’re getting yourself into this.”

She added that she can’t just accept indie-film roles anymore because of her newfound fame, and that she wishes that someone would have warned her about her current position so that she would have resented it less.

Margot will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad 2, which is set to be released in 2019.
