All moms know that giving birth isn’t the easiest task in the world, and it can be just as laborious for humans as it is for animals. Luckily, many of our furry friends have help if they need it, help that can save their lives as well as their babies’.

A man in Texas thought all was lost after his goat had a particularly hard labor. He caught it all on camera, and, in the clip below, you can see how he lovingly cares for his animal in her time of need.

The labor is difficult because her baby was a breech baby. With the little one’s hind legs out first, it was hard for the man to maneuver him out — and mom wasn’t helping by not pushing.

The man thought that the delivery was too long: by the time the baby was born, he thought that he was surely dead.

But there was still another technique he could try: animal CPR. As you can see in the footage, he puts the newborn’s mouth to his lips and blows air into his lungs. The little one appears to be lifeless — until you hear his loud bleats at the very end!

We’re so glad this difficult birth had a happy ending, and that this man was able add an adorable baby goat to his family!
