Have you ever paid it forward?
Sometimes, a random act of kindness is all that someone needs to turn their incredibly terrible day into the best day of the week.
In a Texas ice cream shop, one man provided this act of random kindness to each and every customer who walked through the door until it was time to close.
“Mr. Gary,” as the shop owner of Sweet Sammies, Kory Close, calls him, came into the shop at about 7:30 on a Saturday night. Saturday nights are busy nights for ice cream shops, and Mr. Gary wanted to purchase all the ice cream for customers, up to $300. That’s right, this man wanted to buy ice cream for everyone who came in.
Everyone was so touched that a random person was willing to do this for complete strangers. And instead of capping off his pay-it-forward spree at $300, he paid for each and every ice cream that was sold until it was time to close up shop, reaching a grand total of $1,000 on ice cream in one night.
On top of that? He tipped each of the servers very handsomely, adding on another $300 to that already hefty ice cream bill.
Of course, it’s not about the money, it’s about the kindness behind the act!
