Mama June made her triumphant return to reality TV with her WeTV series, Mama June: From Not to Hot. Despite the cringe-worthy title, the show takes a fun and transparent look at her new healthy lifestyle as she takes dance classes, tries new exercises, and tracks her weight-loss journey.
Mama June became famous on the TLC show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which focused on the family’s home life and daughter Alana’s pageant life.
On the WeTV show, Mama June is super candid about her weight and is always sharing her very relatable scale woes. One day you’ve lost a pound, one day you’ve gained three — we’ve all been there, and Mama June is right there with us.
In the clip below, which is from the show, she announces that her last documented weight was 175 pounds, but that she’s been under a ton of stress lately and hasn’t been as diligent with her eating habits because of it.
In the clip, we see June hop on the scale to learn she’s about 10 pounds over that 175-pound benchmark, but she doesn’t seem that torn up about it. She immediately enlists her daughter Alana (Honey Boo Boo) to help her exercise more, and they goof around with “As Seen on TV” contraptions like the Shake Weight and some kind of vibrating belt that is supposed to tone your abs. While she may have gone up on the scale, we love Mama June’s healthy attitude and decision to dive into exercise with her daughter.
