Mama June Gorges Herself On Fast-Food Before Beauty Pageant Debut, And Her Coach Is Furious

Beauty pageants have a high-stress atmosphere. Besides having to strut your stuff in front of both the judges and the audience, you also have to deal with no small degree of sass and bloodthirsty competition backstage — which Mama June just learned the hard way in this preview clip.

“Oh, lifesaver,” pronounced June as her older daughter walked backstage, carrying a brown paper bag. “We don’t eat lunch ’til 5. Hell yeah!”

Inside was a massive supply of some kind of fast food. Mama June is clearly treating herself to a heavy, salty snack, which we all need every now and again. But the choice is both baffling and frustrating to everyone else backstage.

“Fast food has no place in pageantry,” says her baffled coach after she refuses to accept his offer of a fruit substitute.

“Especially right before you walk out on stage.”

Her fellow competitors are less restrained in their criticism. You can see sideways glances and mumbled mockery from the other women getting ready for the pageant, including one woman casually throwing out the word “trashy.”

“You know what’s trashy to me?” responds June to the cameras. “People talking s*** about me in front of my daughter.”

But it’s her daughter who reminds Mom to keep her chin up — and to remember, “My Honey Boo Boo philosophy: ‘Let your haters be your motivators!'” With a flamboyant snap of her fingers, of course.
