The “beat drop” is a phrase that has become a staple in music nowadays. It refers to a brief lull in a song where the anticipation for the listener builds to a breaking point, and then explodes along with the song.

Think of one of your favorite songs — you instantly know that moment where everything comes together to create the perfect, exciting sound. That’s the beat drop!

And the same way adults can recognize that moment in music, the little girl in the video below proves that even that youngest of us can, too!

Since its initial post on YouTube, this video has received over 5 million views, and it’s pretty easy to see why!

Shot by Ethan Than, the video features his toddler niece Maddie jamming along in her car seat to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ hit song, “Uptown Funk.”

It’s a song that is instantly recognizable, and the little girl has a faint smile on her face as she shimmies from side to side.

But the, she stops, her eyes glancing to the side, as if waiting for something.

As the song progresses, she suddenly raises her two fingers, telling everyone to wait.

You won’t believe what she does the moment the beat drops!
