Dad Records First Day Of School For 12 Years, Realizes How Different Daughter Looks Each Time

Jess is a curly-haired Jersey girl who adores penguins and watches the worst reality shows on TV.

The first day of school is always a huge moment for both the incoming students and their parents. Whether it’s the first day of first grade or the first day at a new school, it’s a moment that will be remembered for a lifetime.

When Mackenzie was 6, she was ready for her first day of first grade. Luckily, her dad was there to film her on her special day. He decided to interview her and ask her a few things about her grade and what she was looking forward to, which eventually became an adorable tradition between the two of them.

For 11 years, the father–daughter duo did the same interview on the first day of school. With each first day, Mackenzie grew right in front of her dad’s eyes.

Now that she’s started 12th grade, the annual interviews have come to a close, but not without a special look back at all of her first days.

Her dad mashed together all the footage and created the sweetest time lapse of his daughter growing up.

In the video below, posted on June 11, 2017, the doting dad asks his tiny 6-year-old about her day. With each year that passes, her answers change just as much as her looks.

It’s so incredible to see the bond between this dad and daughter develop over time.
