Luke Perry has reportedly suffered a serious medical emergency.
TMZ reported that, according to its sources, the actor suffered a “massive stroke” on Wednesday and is currently under observation at the hospital.
According to the report, paramedics responded to a call at Luke’s Sherman Oaks, California, home at around 9:40 a.m. local time on February 27. They brought him to a nearby hospital.
News of the 52-year-old actor’s hospitalization was confirmed to the The Hollywood Reporter and multiple other outlets on Thursday. His representative Arnold Robinson told THR that the actor “is currently under observation at the hospital.” As of yet, there have been no other updates about his current condition or status.
The actor, who currently stars on Riverdale as lead character Archie Andrews’ father, first came to prominence on the beloved ’90s teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210. The series catapulted Luke to national heartthrob status in his role as Dylan McKay.
Coincidentally, Fox announced a reboot of 90210 on the same day the actor suffered his stroke. His original costars Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling, and Ian Ziering are all already signed on to the new project, though Luke did not, likely due to his full-time contract status on Riverdale.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Luke and his family. Check out the video for the actor’s interview with his on-screen Riverdale son, KJ Apa.
