In October 1985, Christine Tallady delivered a baby boy. The young single mom ultimately thought it best to place him for adoption and give him a chance at a much better life than she could provide.
Christine left the adoption records open in case her son ever wanted to contact her in the future.
The little boy was adopted and named Steve. When Steve turned 18, he began looking for his birth mother. The search proved unsuccessful, but he never stopped thinking about his biological mom.
In 2007, Steve realized he’d been making one small yet crucial spelling mistake while searching for Christine’s last name. At the time, he was 20 years old and working as a delivery driver at a Lowe’s store in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
When he finally searched Christine’s name with the correct spelling, he discovered that Christine Tallady lived very close to him. So, he decided to ask his boss if he happened to know a woman named Christine Tallady.
His boss said yes.
Not only did Christine also work at a Lowe’s in Grand Rapids — but what happened next is nothing short of miraculous.
