Woman Scrolling Facebook Sees Long-Lost Dog’s Photo On Beer Cans Promoting Homeless Pups

Motorworks Brewing in Bradenton, Florida, wanted to help spread the word about all the amazing dogs and cats up for adoption at a local animal shelter.

So the beer company came up with a great idea: to put photos of adoptable dogs from Manatee County Animal Services on its beer cans.

Monica Mathis was scrolling through her Facebook feed at home in Minnesota when she saw something that stopped her in her tracks.

It was a photo of four Motorworks Brewing beer cans. One of the cans showed a photo of “Day Day,” a smiling terrier mix who looked eerily familiar to her.

Monica couldn’t shake the feeling that Day Day was actually Hazel — her beloved dog who ran away and went missing three years prior when she lived in Iowa.

After Hazel went missing, Monica says she and her family moved away to Minnesota. She lost the information for Hazel’s microchip and was never able to update her contact information.

Monica was convinced she’d never see Hazel again … until that fateful day while sitting at her computer.

But seriously, what are the chances?

“I had a doubt, I was like ‘Oh my gosh, it looks like her, but is it really her?'” she told Fox 13.

Monica grabbed the phone and called Manatee County Animal Services. You don’t want to miss what happened next!
