I’m not a photographer, nor am I familiar with the skills necessary to be one, so when I watch a video like the one below, I think, “Dude, why were you so close?”
But again, that’s why I’m not a photographer — and will probably never get a once-in-a-lifetime shot.
The photographer in the video definitely got his, though!
In the video, Brian James Skinner is at a beach. He’s positioned himself and his camera near the shoreline to capture some great shots of the coming storm.
The beach is completely empty as a powerful lightning storm rages on in the sky above. With his camera at the ready, Brian is able to capture the lightning bolts as they flash to the ground.
Then, one lightning bolt is so strong — and so close to the beach — that Brian can only turn and look, wide-eyed, at his wife filming behind him.
Unfortunately, the lightning wasn’t done getting closer to the beach — or to the photographer!
In stunning fashion, one of the lightning bolts crashes so close and so powerfully, the resulting shockwave strikes the photographer right in the hand!
He quickly scurries away and shakes his hand as if to blow smoke off it!
