Applying for a job can be stressful. We’ve all been there — sending out resumes and cover letters everywhere, hoping that some unknown person gets back to you; hoping that you don’t get lost in the pile.
You have to stay vigilant and go after what you want — a sentiment 6-year-old Stanley Bolland is no doubt very familiar with! You see, young Stanley saw a job posting that interested him and he went after it.
The job was with Legoland Windsor in Hampshire, England.
Legoland Windsor was seeking a designer with experience in product design, IT, and an “interest or knowledge about Lego and creation of Lego models.”
This sounded like something right up Stanley’s alley!
So, he decided to apply for the position.
But Stanley didn’t fill out an application or send in a resume as you would expect.
No, the young boy sent in a handwritten note.
The note had a very formal, respectful introduction: “Dear Sir/Madam, I am six years old and I love Lego [and] have a box of it.”
He definitely checked off a few of the boxes Legoland was looking for in the job!
