by Jess Butler
Jess is a curly-haired Jersey girl who adores penguins and watches the worst reality shows on TV.

One day, Brent Houzenga decided to go forth with a little experiment. He was a right-handed artist and wanted to see what would happen if he switched things up and only used his left hand which working on his masterpieces. Then, his simple idea turned into so much more.

Brent planned to go a full 365 days using his left hand to draw. He also wanted to create one piece a day for the entire year.

In the video below, posted on July 12, 2017, Brent explains, “I had to struggle to make the right lines. Throughout the process it’s become a lot easier and I’ve become a lot more ambidextrous.”

The artists shows off his artwork and flips through a book containing his daily drawings. It is clear that with each page and new picture, Brent’s left-handed skills improve greatly. The process moving from right-handed to left-handed artistry shows just how much his art has changed.

Not only has his experiment changed his own perspective, but it has also changed the lives of others.

Brent says, “Over the years, on different projects, people would be like, ‘You’re the reason i’m doing whatever I’m doing.’ And there’s no better reward in the world than to see that you’ve made a positive impact on someone’s life.”

Check out Brent’s incredible pieces in the video below, and please SHARE if you think he has pure talent, no matter which hand he uses!
