I’m not going to lie — I am one of the biggest wimps to ever exist on this planet. Everything makes me nervous, and I’m generally terrified of most things involving heights.

Seriously, I can barely look over a two-story balcony without getting vertigo and feeling like everything around me is closing in on me. You know the scene in Elf where Buddy finds out he’s human and, in fact, not an elf, and everything suddenly gets all distorted, then he faints? That’s me, but with almost every situation in life.

That being said, kudos to the people in this video who are climbing what looks like an actual stairway to heaven, which is located in the gorgeous Gosaukamm mountain range in Austria.

Sebastian Scheichl, who hails from Salzburg, Austria, recorded the incredible footage of his friend, Johannes Jank, ascending the panic-inducing ladder, which is literally made of steel and rope. Sounds super safe (?!), but hey, anything for a good Instagram shot, right?

Sebastian, who’s only 23 years old, recalled the awe-inspiring moment to Caters News: “I was so excited, I couldn’t believe my eyes at that moment,” he said. “It was the first time we’d climbed this ladder and I was scared for sure, but we were secured. There were harnesses and we had proper climbing gear on us.”
