The Kardashian-Jenner family is known for choosing nontraditional baby names.

While the Keeping Up with the Kardashian stars all have fairly “normal” names themselves, most of the siblings have opted for more unique names for their own kids. Kim Kardashian recently made headlines for choosing the name “Chicago” for her newborn daughter, after husband Kanye West’s hometown. Kim and Kanye’s other two children are North and Saint, which are definitely not names you hear every day. Rob Kardashian’s daughter also has a unique name: “Dream.”

Now, it seems as if new mom Kylie Jenner is following in their footsteps by naming her first-born “Stormi.” While Kim’s reason for naming Chicago after the famous city is fairly straightforward, some were left scratching their heads at Kylie’s chosen baby name.

But a faction of Kylie’s fans weren’t surprised at all when she revealed Stormi’s name days after the baby’s February 1, 2018 birth. In fact, a few of them guessed the name correctly weeks before Kylie even confirmed the baby’s existence!

“I’m predicting it now, [Kylie and boyfriend Travis Scott’s] baby’s name will be Stormy,” one user tweeted on January 1, 2018. “It’s Stormie. GET UR FACTS IN ORDER,” another replied the same day.

While both were slightly off with the name’s spelling, they each correctly guessed it.

According to People, one prominent fan theory about Kylie’s baby’s name is that “Stormi” is an indirect reference to the butterfly effect. In chaos theory, this is the idea that something as small as the flap of a butterfly’s wings can set off a storm somewhere far away. BuzzFeed points out that Kylie gave a slew of butterfly-related hints throughout her secret pregnancy, leaving many fans convinced before the name announcement that the baby would actually be called “Butterfly” (or “Mariposa,” the Spanish word for butterfly).

Kylie’s “hints” include her butterfly jewelry in a November photo shoot, the matching ankle butterfly tattoos that she and Travis got last year, tons of butterfly decor featured in Kylie’s pregnancy reveal video, and the fact that Travis released a song called “Butterfly Effect” around the time that Kylie got pregnant.

Do you think this theory makes sense?
