Does the modern day ever make you cringe and wish life was more like the past, when technology didn’t rule the world?

After posting this story about an untouched tribe in the Amazon, whose people have never come into contact with outsiders or seen modern inventions, I was shocked to see how so many people responded that they’d prefer that lifestyle over our world today. I always thought I was unique in being nostalgic for a much simpler time and even though I’m not looking to move to the jungle any time soon, it’s nice to know that not everyone is obsessed with modern technology.

There are definitely people out there who have opted out of our modern world to live like it’s long, long ago, but the couple in the following story have found a happy medium with their retro lifestyle. Kitten and Richard Von Mew of Warwickshire, England are so obsessed with the 1940s that their entire life revolves around the World War II era.

Every day, Kitten, who legally changed her name from Michelle, will pin her hair in perfect curls and wear vintage clothing and shoes that she finds in thrift stores. The couple, who just welcomed baby Betsy-Rose into their vintage lifestyle, both work as 1940s-era performers and live every aspect of their lives like a ’40s flashback.
