Imagine getting up in the morning and finding a massive reptile hiding somewhere inside your car.

One night, Thaichai Kongnimit parked outside his house in Surat Thani, a province in Thailand.

He woke up the next day and experienced that exact surprise.

According to Newsflare, as the 55-year-old drove to the market, he heard a spine-chilling hiss coming from his car. He got out to inspect the engine, figuring that the noise was the result of some technical issue.

Then, he discovered the real culprit: a king cobra!

Thaichai opened the hood of his car and found the huge snake wrapped around his engine. In a panic, he called for help.

Thankfully, a rescuer named Tanawat Num was able to snatch the 15-foot king cobra from the father of three’s car and place it in a sack.

Newsflare reports that the snake was brought back to the wild.

A relieved Thaichai later said, “The cobra could have killed me. I opened the bonnet to look down into the engine, and I was about 30cm [1 foot] from its face.”

Luckily, that wasn’t the case, and this harrowing rescue mission was a success.

Check out the video below to see just how long this king cobra is when the men unravel it, and please SHARE if you’re glad they found the snake when they did!
