Man Stages Fake Kidnapping To Surprise Girlfriend In Criminally Cute Proposal

by Giovanna Boldrini
Giovanna was born in Rome, Italy and currently resides in South Salem, New York. In her free time, she likes to cook with her children and grandchildren.

Well, this is… different.

Jonathan Kumar was looking for a creative way to propose to his girlfriend, Jackie.

Just taking a knee in the park or asking at dinner wasn’t going to work. Taking her on a fancy vacation was too pedestrian, and popping the question in front of family and friends was too vanilla.

So what did Jonathan do? He staged a fake kidnapping! Yep, you read that correctly!

The fake criminals are dressed in comical prison outfits and cheap masks for the abduction. They “knock out” Jonathan, then ever-so-gently lead Jackie to the car, giving Jonathan the chance to give chase and play the hero.

You have to wonder how many action movies Jonathan watched in his formative years, because there’s really no other explanation for how he could have come up with all this madness.

It’s not a serious acting job; everyone’s cracking up for the entire scene, and as odd as this idea seems on the surface, it’s clear that everyone involved — Jonathan, Jackie, and the crew of Hamburglars — are having a great time. Especially when the shootout starts!

He does seem to get distracted mid-proposal as he continues to fire his toy gun at the fake criminals while asking where they should go for their honeymoon — but hey, whatever works. Congrats to Jonathan and Jackie!
