KFC Releases Firelogs That Smell Like Fried Chicken, Because It’s 2018 And Nothing Makes Sense

by Olivia Jakiel

Imagine this: It’s Saturday night. The snow is falling in light, fluffy snowflakes outside your window. You change into your comfiest pajamas, throw on your softest sweater, pull on your fuzzy slipper socks, pour yourself a glass of wine, and settle into your couch with a book, ready for a relaxing night by the fire.

There’s only one minor problem: Those firelogs your husband brought home? They smell like fried chicken.

No, April Fool’s Day did not come early this year (although, if we’re being honest, this whole year has felt like one big April Fool’s Day, no?). America’s beloved fried chicken chain, KFC, recently announced it would be selling firelogs that smell like — you guessed it — fried chicken.

On Thursday, the Colonel tweeted, “Introducing the 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog from Enviro-Log®, the best way to make a fire smell less like fire and more like fried chicken. Get yours today at .”

Sounds pretty weird to me, but apparently, the firelogs are a hit with the fried-chicken-loving public and have been flying off the shelves! In just one day, the KFC firelogs were sold out. The Colonel tweeted, “Boy howdy, did those go fast! Apologies to those who weren’t able to snag one, and to those who did, enjoy the best smelling fire you’ve ever smelled in your life!”

No word on whether the fast-food chain will re-flock — err — restock the firelogs, but here’s to hoping for a Christmas miracle, folks.
