In anticipation of his upcoming movie with Tiffany Haddish — Night School — Kevin Hart took over Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, as “principal for a day.”
His first edicts as principal? “Nuggets every day” and “school now starts at 12 p.m.”
The kids at the high school lost it for Principal Hart, who said he was often sent to the principal’s office when he was in high school for “being a clown.” He also said, “I was the guy who didn’t know how to shut the funny off. I got in trouble for it.”
He also gave the kids at the performing arts school a pep talk, presumably about their future careers in Hollywood.
“You’re gonna hear a bunch of ‘no’s,’ ‘no’s’ make you strong, ‘no’s’ prepare you for the one ‘yes!’ You’re working hard to hear the one ‘yes,'” he told the kids.
Night School stars Kevin as an adult trying to get his GED when he loses his job, so he goes to night school, where he meets Tiffany, his tough teacher. Kevin said he could not be happier to work with his old friend Tiffany in a big movie.
“I am so happy because this woman deserves this,” he said. “I know where she came from. I’m lucky to have her in this movie.”
