Kendall Jenner has been in hot water recently after some tone-deaf comments about her fellow models went viral.
Kendall told LOVE magazine that she’s “super selective about what shows I would do. I was never one of those girls who would do like 30 shows a season or whatever the fuck those girls do. More power to ‘em. But I had a million jobs, not only catwalks but everything else.”
After her interview went public, many models took offense to her words and felt she was being classist and elitist. Several models said the reason they do so many shows is because they need the money.
Kendall went on Twitter on Tuesday, August 22, 2018, to “clarify” her statement.
“I was misrepresented in a recent interview over the wknd & it’s important to clarify the meaning. It was intended to be entirely complimentary but unfortunately, my words were twisted & taken out of context,” Kendall tweeted. “I want to be clear. The respect that I have for my peers is immeasurable!”
“I get to experience firsthand their tireless commitment, their work ethic, the endless days, the lack of sleep, separation from family and friends, stress of traveling, the toll on physical and mental health, yet they still make it all look effortless and beautiful,” she added, while capping it all off with, “There’s no way I could EVER hate on that.”
We certainly hope she means it. After all, Kendall is the world’s highest paid supermodel.
